Anorexia being Anorexic and becoming very skinny or thinIn my opinion, Anorexia is a cry for help and an act
of desperation most of the time. Wanting to be extremely thin and attractive is pretty much an
attempt to attract people who will like you for what you look-like not who you are. Many times, the people on TV, magazine pictures or commercials everywhere ... ad subliminal messages to people's mind that suggest that "being very thin leads to true happiness & love" (sometimes they do it by accident but other times they do it on purpose to make money off your insecurities). Many anorexic Women get confused, depressed or desperate and decide that their physical appearance is all that matters because that's what society tells them. The same goes for wearing a lot of make-up too. Anyway, Anorexic women usually feel that men or shallow friends can give them the love, affection and support they need if they stay extremely thin. Anorexia is curable through self control and understanding yourself. Many times inconsiderate or demanding parents are to blame too but social pressure are the biggest contributors to being overly skinny to the point of sickness. You can seriously and permanently injure or cripple your body or die due to malnutrition so eat healthy and occasionally exercise to stay fairly thin or medium sized (there's no need for skin and bones). Sometimes anorexic women are also compulsive eaters or eat when they're nervous so they gain weight quickly and don't even notice and then they start starving themselves. Free Advice Being Skinny and thin You can be skinny or thin and still be healthy. Most women want to attract men with their skinny bodies but unfortunately that isn't what love is. Love has nothing to do with being physically attractive. If a man only likes you because you are thin and considered physically attractive for that reason... that man doesn't know what love is. Having a little or medium sized belly is healthy. Of course, being fat is also unhealthy so moderation is usually always the right answer. By spending your days throwing up or just pooing everything out is only going to ruin your body's natural way of processing food. Other Reasons people become Anorexic Most anorexic women start trying to be super thin and skinny in an attempt to be perfect. Many times their parent severely pushed them to become someone they did not want to be or forced them to be "the Perfect child". The parents only supported them when they did what they were told. Bad parents are usually always to blame. Healing comes when you acknowledge that they we're wrong and you start being and doing the things you really want to be or do. Another reason is ... social. TV portrays skinny or very women as happy and loved by everyone. All those pictures and images (on TV or other places) slowly warp people's mind. Being skinny and thin is healthy but when people are forced it messes with their mind. So anorexic women try to find that love and acceptance by starving them selves until they look as thin as people on TV. The reason is their need for emotional support. Healing comes when you recognize that TV and commercials are only entertainment and not reality. You don't need to wear make up to be beautiful either. Being abused as a child or at any time in your life can also make you want to sub consciously hurting yourself (by starving yourself). It's complicated but you basically have to understand where the abuse was and learn from it to heal yourself without spending thousands on shrinks or counselors. Other times, anorexic women were obese or very fat so they took extreme measures instead of working out, living a healthy life style or eating with moderation. Another reason is having an addictive personality. People with little self control become addicted to the feelings that come with throwing up or hurting them selves (hurt by starvation) in the same way other addicts stuff themselves with food or other substances. It's almost a thrill.
How to stop being Anorexic - End anorexia First, you need moderation instead of starvation. You can stay healthy without throwing up or spending your days in the bathroom. If you walk more and occasionally exercise you will avoid getting "fat". Know that "Looks" are not the most important thing in life. I know that the fact is that skinny and very thin people get more attention then regular people do but the price will be your health and well being. It's up to you. Anorexia kills! You know it's true. If you find good friends who will support you and care for you... your life will start feeling good, again. This means you will have to approach people. This can also help.
